How to Tame a Wolf in Minecraft

Wild wolves in Minecraft can be tamed. When a wolf is tamed in Minecraft, it will obey your command to sit or follow you around the Minecraft world. Also if you are attacked in Minecraftand you are nearby your tamed wolf, your tamed wolf will attack the monster. Essentially, a tamed wolf in Minecraft behaves like a dog and is loyal to you.

To tame a wolf in Minecraft, you will need to feed it bones. Bones can be obtained by killing skeletons. If you are running Minecraft survival mode, you will need to kill skeletons when they come out at night in order to obtain bones. The safest way to defeat a skeleton in Minecraft is to shoot it with a bow and arrow. Since skeletons in Minecraft have bows and arrows themselves, it does not make very much sense to walk up to it and hit it with a sword. When you kill the skeleton inMinecraft, a bone will spawn.

Once you have your bones in Minecraft, you will need to find a wild pack of wolves and pick one to tame. To tame a wolf, select the bone in your Minecraft inventory and right click on the wolf. There is a 1 in 3 chance that a single bone will tame a wolf in Minecraft. Sometimes, you may need to feed the wolf up to 12 bones in order to tame it. When you tame the wolf, it a red heart will appear on the wolf, and the wolf will obey your command.

To make the wolf sit and stay in one place, right click it. Then right click again to let the wolf follow you around your Minecraft world.
